A Joint Review Board in Rib Mountain will consider final approval for a tax increment finance district on Wednesday afternoon.
TID 2 would cover an area from the Rib Mountain Golf Course to County NN and Robin Lane. The plan would reserve the first 12% of property tax value to fund infrastructure projects that would stimulate economic development in the area.
Plans also show that $100,000 would be reserved for developer incentives.
Residents are strongly opposed to the plan, saying they don’t want commercial development in their neighborhood. Many don’t want to give up their private wells, which they would be forced to do if water infrastructure is built in the area.
The Joint Review Board meeting begins at 3:00 PM and public comment is part of the agenda.
