MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — A five run fifth inning blew open a close game and the New York Mets went on to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-4 in the wild card playoff game at American Family Field.
Freddy Peralta managed only four innings of work giving up three earned runs on just two hits. But, the bullpen struggled on this day as Joel Payamps and Aaron Ashby combined to give up five earned runs in just 2/3 of an inning.
Brice Turang had three hits and scored two runs for Milwaukee. William Contreras and two RBIs while Jackson Chourio and Rhys Hoskins had one apiece.
The Brewers will try and stay alive tonight…pre game show at 6pm on WSAU.
