WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The billionaire CEO of Tesla and Space X is attempting to reach out to voters in swing states nationwide over the next month as election day is now less than a month away.
According to his posts on X, Elon Musk is offering voters in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, and North Carolina $47 for every registered voter they refer to sign his America PAC’s petition supporting the First and Second Amendment, saying, “Sign our petition to support the Constitution! Also, earn $47 for every person you refer to sign the petition if they’re in a swing state. Goal is to get 1M voters in swing states to show support for free speech & right to bear arms.”
Musk, who was a lifelong Democrat and voted for both former president Barack Obama and former Democratic presidential nominee Hilary Clinton in previous elections, has thrown his support behind former president Donald Trump this election cycle and made an appearance at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, saying, “President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America.”
Musk is one of several former lifelong Democrat billionaires to support former president Trump, including Bill Ackman, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, David Sacks, along with many others, as Trump pledges to protect cryptocurrency and return to investing in American energy. In contrast, a large number of billionaires have thrown their support behind Kamala Harris, such as Reid Hoffman, Mark Cuban, Reed Hastings, and Ken Chenault, over their belief that the Vice President will bring “order and innovation” to the White House.
As it currently stands, betting markets such as Polymarket have Trump at a 53% chance to retake the presidency with over $338,370,000 already bet on him, while Vice President Harris has $269,216,324 bet on her to win. When broken down by swing state, betters have Trump winning Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina, while they have Harris winning Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada.
