WASHINGTON D.C. (WSAU) – Former President Trump will be recording an episode with the top podcaster in the U.S. this week as Vice President Harris is set to do a pair of interviews in the coming days.
According to Politico, Trump will appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Friday after rumors that both of the candidates were eyeing an appearance on the popular show in the final days of the election. The report does not state if the Harris campaign will accept or refuse Rogan’s offer to also host her for an episode before election day.
Rogan’s show is currently ranked number one on Spotify and has a total of 2457 episodes recorded in the fourteen years that “The Joe Rogan Experience” has been on the airwaves, averaging over 11 million listeners per episode.
In recent years, Rogan has dismissed claims that he’s a supporter of the former president and spoke about it during an episode with science podcaster Lex Fridman saying, “I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once—I’ve said no, every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him.” However, Rogan has also been critical of Vice President Harris’ stance on COVID, illegal immigration, and crime, as he once lived in California while Harris was the state’s Attorney General until he moved to Texas due to the intense COVID restrictions and homeless rates continuing to rise in the Golden State.
Meanwhile, Harris will sit for interviews with NBC’s Hallie Jackson and another with Telemundo’s Julio Vaqueiro on Tuesday evening as she hopes to improve her seemingly struggling polling numbers that include the latest Redfield Wilton shows Trump ahead of Harris by two percentage points and marks Trump’s first lead in their poll since July.
Other polls, such as the latest USA Today/Suffolk poll, found Trump trails Harris by just one percentage point nationally after Harris led the former president by five percentage points on August 28th, and pollster Nate Silver gave Trump a 53.1% chance of retaking the presidency, with Michigan and Nevada being the only swing states that she holds an advantage in.
