WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Arena Curling National Championships wrapped up Sunday at the Wausau Curling Center.
Organizers say the event had a massive economic impact on the Wausau area, and Central Wisconsin as a whole, bringing in teams from all around the country to come and see Wausau while they compete in the games.
Event organizers expect it brought in anywhere from three to four hundred people for the weekend. Kim Susens, Event Coordinator, said, “Of course our athletes need a place to stay so they’ve been in hotels, AirBnb’s, They’ve been in restaurants.”
Susens even made an area scavenger hunt to get the athletes out and visiting some of the great businesses and places to see in Wausau. They had to use clues to find their location then take a selfie with it.
