AUSTIN, TX (WSAU) – Vice President Kamala Harris rumored appearance on the world’s largest podcast before election day appears to be in doubt after her campaign made requests that Joe Rogan and his producers deemed unreasonable.
According to Rogan, who posted about the issue on Monday night on X, “They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her, and they only wanted to do an hour. I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin,” adding that the Harris campaign “has not passed on doing the podcast.”
“My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen,” Rogan continued.
This announcement follows last Friday’s three-hour in-studio interview with former President Donald Trump for his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Since it aired, the interview has received over 37 million views on YouTube.
During the interview, Trump discussed the possibility that Harris would be on the show, saying, “Can you imagine Kamala doing this show? She’d be laying on the floor. If she did this kind of an interview with you, I hope she does, because it would be a mess. She’d be laying on the floor. Comatose. She’d be saying, ‘Call in the medics’.”
CNN reported on Tuesday morning that Trump’s running mate Senator J.D. Vance will be sitting down in Austin with Rogan on Wednesday, with the episode expected to be aired later this week.
According to pollster Nate Silver’s latest model, Trump has a 55% chance of retaking the presidency and holds an advantage over Harris in every swing state other than Wisconsin, where she leads by two percentage points, and Michigan, where she leads by six percentage points. However, the latest Suffolk/USA Today poll for Wisconsin has Trump ahead of Harris by one percentage point.
