MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin mens basketball team topped UW-River Falls 78-62 in an exhibition contest on Wednesday night at the Kohl Center.
New Badger John Tonje led the way with 15 points, going 8-9 from the free throw line. Steven Crowl had 14 points, Carter Gilmore had nine and Nolan Winters added eight.
The Badgers will host Holy Cross on Monday.
The Wisconsin womens basketball team had no problems with UW-Stevens Point in exhibition play on Tuesday with a 72-41 win.
The Badgers went on a 12-0 run in the 2nd quarter and outscored the Pointers in the paint 44-14.
Wisconsin was led by Serah Williams who finished with 16 points , seven rebounds and seven blocks. Jovana Spasovski had 11 and Carter McCray & Natalie Leuzinger had 10 each. In all, 11 Badgers scored in the game.
Alexa Thomson led the Pointers with 12.
Wisconsin will host Wright State on Tuesday.
