MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – One of the Milwaukee Bucks recent first-round picks will likely be playing elsewhere next season after the team decided to not pick up his option next season.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Bucks have declined MarJon Beauchamp’s $4.8 million fourth-year option, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent when this season ends after he’s struggled to make the progress the team hoped for over the last year.
Beauchamp, who was selected 22nd overall by the Bucks in the 2022 NBA Draft, averaged 4.4 points per game last season and is averaging just 1.8 points per game to start this season, would be the latest draft pick miss in General Manager Jon Horst’s career, joining D.J. Wilson, Thon Maker, and Rashad Vaughn.
