GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are expecting to be without at least two key players on Sunday when they host the Detroit Lions in the pivotal NFC matchup.
According to the team’s final injury report for the week, rookie safety Evan Williams (hamstring) and starting center Josh Myers (wrist) are expected to be inactive on Sunday after they were unable to practice with the team this week.
The Packers do not have a true backup center on the active roster, so guard Elgton Jenkins is expected to slide over to center while first-round pick Jordan Morgan and fellow guard Sean Rhyan will fill in at left and right guard throughout the game. With Williams out, rookie Javon Bullard will be playing next to Xavier McKinney, while Keisean Nixon will play Bullard’s usual slot position.
Other players who may be inactive and are listed as questionable include quarterback Jordan Love, who did practice on a limited basis on Thursday and Friday, while cornerback Jaire Alexander missed all three practices this week with a knee and is expected to be a gametime decision, as well as running back Josh Jacobs, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
