MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Bucks and a former first-round pick have agreed to begin exploring trade options after being a healthy scratch in Saturday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavilers.
According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, Milwaukee and MarJon Beauchamp’s representatives at Klutch Sports are working on finding the former first-round pick a new home after they declined his fourth-year option last week, making him an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Stein did not state if the team could add a veteran player like Pat Connaughton or Bobby Portis in the deal in hopes to restructure their bench.
Beauchamp, who is averaging just 2.6 minutes played and 1.8 points per game this season, is the latest Bucks first round pick to not work out as planned in recent years, joining former center Thon Maker, guard Rashad Vaughn, guard Donte DiVincenzo, and forward D.J. Wilson.
