MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Milwaukee Brewers rookie Jackson Chourio has been named a finalist for one of the MLB’s top awards.
According to MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy, Chourio has made the final three to win the 2024 NL Rookie of the Year finalist alongside San Diego Padres outfielder Jackson Merrill and Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes, with the winner to be announced live on MLB Network next week Monday at 5 p.m. CT.
Between June 2 and the end of the regular season, he hit 16 of his 21 home runs and 15 of his 22 stolen bases, slashing.305/.360/.527. During the NL Wild Card Series, Chourio dominated with a batting average of .455 and hitting two home runs against the Mets in Game 2.
From Pat Listach in 1992, when Milwaukee was still a member of the American League, to Ryan Braun in 2007 and Devin Williams in 2021, the Brewers have had three rookies of the year.
