WESTON, WI (WSAU) — Leaders in Central Wisconsin will gather on Monday to welcome a new minor-league sports franchise to the Greenheck Turner Community Center in Weston.
The Central Wisconsin Conquerors will join Major Arena Soccer League 2 in December, playing six home matches in Weston against teams from Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri.
The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4 PM. Wausau Mayor Doug Diny will be there and has been invited to open the season on December 14th with a ceremonial first ball kick when the Conquerors host the Minnesota Blizzard.
Season ticket memberships start at $50 for all six home dates with the option to purchase a customizable Conquerors scarf featuring landmarks from Wausau, Stevens Point, Eau Claire, Marshfield, or Wisconsin Rapids.
