PARK FALLS, WI (WSAU) — A Price County man accused of killing an ex-girlfriend may have reached a plea deal with the state.
Christopher Dyer is accused of one count of intentional homicide after Denise Schwarz was found shot to death back on April 13th. First responders found her body outside a home on Second Avenue in Park Falls and also recovered a firearm at the scene.
The 50-year-old was named as a suspect in her death about two weeks later, though court records show he was jailed in Price County on April 15th.
Dyer has yet to enter a plea to the count, which carries an automatic life sentence with only the possibility of parole after 20 years to be discussed. Court records show an arrangement and plea/sentencing hearing have both been scheduled for December 26th.
He remains in jail on a $1 million cash bond. Court records show a new judge was recently assigned to the case.
