MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Bucks are close to returning one of their star players after missing the start of the 2024-2025 season due to injury.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, shooting guard Middleton “has been medically cleared for a period of time but is still working to feel physically ready for his season debut from double ankle surgeries.”
Charania further noted that Middleton “has increased his on-court activity and has consistently completed three-on-three play over the past several weeks.”
Middleton would provide the Bucks with the offensive boost they need. The team has struggled to find consistent scorers outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, who combined for 61 points in Milwaukee’s 122-106 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
Since head coach Doc Rivers took over the team around this time last season, Middleton, Damian Lillard, and Antetokounmpo have played together in just seven total games, as he’s played in only 88 regular season games since the start of the 2022-2023 season.
