GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers defeated the San Francisco 49ers 38-10 on Sunday afternoon after a big day with running back Josh Jacobs and the defense forcing several turnovers.
Jacobs, who signed with the Packers from the Las Vegas Raiders this past off-season, rushed for three touchdowns on 26 carries for 106 yards. It marked the second time in the last month that Jacobs has rushed for 100 yards or more after thrashing the Jacksonville Jaguars for 126 yards and was the third time in his career that he’s rushed for three or more touchdowns after doing it in 2022 against the Texans and in 2020 against the Panthers.
Quarterback Jordan Love struggled in the second half but still played well, completing 13 of 23 pass attempts for 163 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. His performance was the first time he hadn’t thrown an interception since the Packers’ playoff victory against the Dallas Cowboys in January.
On defense, the Packers limited superstar running back Christian McCaffery to 31 yards on 11 carries and wide receiver Deebo Samuel Jr. to one catch for 21 yards while forcing three turnovers, two of which came from quarterback Brandon Allen, who threw a third-quarter interception to safety Xavier McKinney and lost a fourth-quarter fumble on a strip sack by Lukas Van Ness.
The stat that defined the game was the Packers’ dominance in time of possession, controlling the ball for nearly 37 minutes compared to the 49ers’ 23 minutes.
The Packers return to action in Week 13 on Thanksgiving night, hosting the Miami Dolphins (5-6) at Lambeau Field. Kickoff is set for 7:20 p.m. on WSAU.
