GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – When the Green Bay Packers play the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving night, several players and staff will participate in the league’s annual “My Cause My Cleats” campaign.
According to a press release from the team, quarterback Jordan Love will be promoting his “Hands of 10ve,” which encourages kids to participate in sports, bring awareness to mental health and suicide, and unite law enforcement with the community, while edge rusher Rashan Gary’s cleats will be promoting “Made by Dyslexia,” which has a goal of “teaching the world the brilliance of dyslexic thinking and to empower it in every home, every workplace, and every school.”
Other notable players promoting causes close to them include wide receiver Jayden Reed’s cleats promoting awareness to “Chicago CRED,” which seeks to provide resources to the city’s youth to prevent gun violence while tight end Tucker Kraft will be raising awareness for the “Cheyenne River Youth Project,” which is a grassroots, Native- and woman-led nonprofit organization dedicated to providing Lakota youth in South Dakota with access to activities such as arts and crafts, intramural sports, and volunteer mentorship, and it provides a healthy meal and snack each day.
Head coach Matt Lafleur will also be participating by supporting the “Valley Kids Foundation,” which provides resources and care to children and families who are battling cancer and other diseases.
