MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The latest Associated Press men’s college basketball poll is out, and both of Wisconsin’s teams are continuing to move up in the rankings.
According to the poll, the undefeated Marquette Golden Eagles have moved up to the fifth overall team in the country after their 94-62 win over Western Carolina on Saturday. The Golden Eagles shot 51.4% (37 of 72) from the field, headed by guard Kam Jones, who scored 20 points. In three consecutive games, the Golden Eagles have shot 50% or higher.
Meanwhile, the undefeated Wisconsin Badgers will start this week ranked 11th overall after defeating Chicago State 74-53 on Saturday night. Guard John Tonje continued his hot streak by scoring 22 points on 50% three-point shooting, his eighth consecutive game of double-digit scoring this season.
The Badgers will return to action on Tuesday night when they host the Michigan Wolverines (6-1) at 8 p.m. on WSAU, while the Golden Eagles will travel to Iowa State on Wednesday to face the 6th-ranked Cyclones at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
