STRATFORD, WI (WSAU) – The family of the student who was killed in a Madison shooting will receive support from two local school districts.
Two people were killed in the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School on Monday, including Rubi Vergara, 14 years old. Vergara’s mother attended and graduated from Stratford High School.
The boys’ basketball teams from Stratford and Edgar will face off this Friday in Edgar. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. The family will get the full proceeds from a 50/50 raffle that will be held throughout the game.
Vergara and 42-year-old Erin Michelle West were both named as the deceased victims of 15-year-old school shooter Natalie Rupnow by authorities on Wednesday. According to the obituary published Wednesday night, Vergara was a freshman at the school and “loved art, singing, and playing keyboard in the family worship band.”
