Stratford And Edgar High Schools Raise Over $2,200 For Rubi Vergara’s Family

STRATFORD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – This week we learned Rubi Vergara, one of the victims of Monday’s shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, has ties to our area.

Since then, community members have stepped forward to assist her family. Fans held a 50/50 raffle during Friday night’s boys basketball game between Stratford and Edgar High Schools. They raised $2,220, which will go directly to Vergara’s family.

Following Tuesday night’s game versus Marathon High School, Stratford raised $1,200 through another 50/50.

Vergara’s mother graduated from Stratford as valedictorian of her class.
