GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers aren’t likely to get one of their biggest superstar defenders back for Sunday’s pivotal matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, but secondary help could still be on the way.
According to head coach Matt LaFleur, who spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon, cornerback Jaire Alexander’s knee injury that he suffered against the Jacksonville Jaguars in October hasn’t improved over the last week, and he is “probably not” returning to the field this weekend to face Vikings star wide receiver, Justin Jefferson.
The two-time All-Pro has missed five straight games despite fully practicing last week, and if he is unable to play on Sunday, it will be his 19th game missed due to injury or suspension in the last two seasons.
Meanwhile, Javon Bullard, a rookie defensive back, returned to practice on Thursday after missing the team’s last two games due to an ankle injury. With another full practice day on Friday, he may be able to play in his first game since suffering the injury against the Detroit Lions earlier this month.
