NEW YORK CITY, NY (WSAU) – Local authorities have identified the woman who died after an illegal migrant from Guatemala set her on fire on the F train in Brooklyn last week.
According to the New York Times, the victim has been identified as 57-year-old New Jersey native Debrina Kawam, who was a 1985 graduate of Passaic Regional High School. No other personal information has been made public at this time.
Sebastian Zapeta, 33, who killed her, was first deported back in 2018 during President-elect Trump’s first term in office and is charged with three counts of second-degree murder, arson, and first-degree murder. The first-degree murder charge carries a life sentence without parole.
