MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers are giving short-term deals to five pitchers to avoid arbitration.
Nestor Cortes, Aaron Civale, Joel Payamps, Nick Mears and Trevor Megill all reched one-year deals on Thursday.
Cortes will make eight-million dollars this upcoming season while Civale will get seven & a half million. Payamps will earn just under three-million, Megill is around two and Mears is just under one million.
The Brewers will take catcher William Contreras to arbitration.
