GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander declined to speak on his future with the franchise on Monday afternoon as the players cleaned out their lockers and prepared for the offseason following their Wild Card loss in Philadelphia.
According to a post on X from NBC 26’s Kelly Hallinan, Alexander was asked by media members if he had any thoughts on the season and what he expects to do for the 2025 season before he declined to comment, stating he doesn’t know if he’ll be a Packer next season and that he didn’t “have anything good to say,” so he wasn’t going to speak about the matter.
Due to a sprained PCL he sustained during the team’s victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 28, Alexander missed the last seven games of the regular season and was placed on season-ending injured reserve on January 4. In total, Alexander missed 34 of the team’s last 68 games due to injury.
The Packers could save $7.3 million against the cap if they cut Alexander this off-season, but a significant cap hit in 2025 is unavoidable, according to Over The Cap, as the team would need to pay Alexander $18.1 million to play elsewhere.
