TOWN OF GRAFTON, WI (WSAU) — More than 70 cats have been taken from a Milwaukee-area home deemed unsafe for people or animals.
It all started with a well-being check on a home that had no running water, gas, or heat. Officers determined that the person could not care for themselves or the animals, and called in the Wisconsin Humane Society to help.
Since then a total of 73 cats have been brought in, many showing skin issues, wounds, upper respiratory infections, and malnourishment. Representatives from the Humane Society are still setting traps to catch any additional animals, according to a Facebook post.

Officials add that many of the cats will have a “long road” to becoming adoptable. Anyone who would like to help can donate to the Wisconsin Humane Society at any of its campuses or online.
