GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers have filled the organization’s two open coaching positions.
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, former New England Patriots defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington as their next defensive line coach after firing Jason Rebrovich earlier this month while former NFL quarterback and assistant under Tom Clements Sean Mannion will take over as quarterbacks coach.
Covington, 35, joined New England’s coaching staff in 2017 and won Super Bowl LIII. He previously served as former Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo’s defensive coordinator before Mayo and his coaches were fired at the end of the season. In 2024, the Patriots’ defense finished 21st in the league and 23rd against the run.
Meanwhile, Mannion is ranked eighth all-time in NCAA Division I career-passing yards with 13,600 and spent nine seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks, appearing in 14 games with two starts.
