CRANDON, WI (WSAU-WAOW — A 16-year-old from Forest County is in custody, accused of making terroristic threats against an unspecified high school this week.
WAOW TV reports the unidentified teen is accused of making a social media post stating, “I am going to shoot up Lincoln High School at 12:30.” The post did not specify what Lincoln High was being threatened.
Authorities took the teen into custody at home in the Town of Wabeno on Tuesday. Authorities then contacted several area jurisdictions with a Lincoln High School in their jurisdictions to inform them of the threat.
The juvenile remains in custody for charges of making a terroristic threat. Court action against them is pending.
The Sheriff’s Department says they take these types of threats seriously and they will not be tolerated. They say protecting schools and the children who attend them is of upmost importance.
