WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau Police are investigating a convenience store robbery that occurred Wednesday evening.
Officers were called to the Mobile Fast Fuel Mart on Wausau Avenue at about 9:15. According to the clerk a customer had approached the counter, asking to purchase tobacco. As the clerk was ringing up the sale, the suspect revealed a concealed gun and demanded money from the register.
The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the store, running north on 8th Street toward Augusta Avenue. Officers searched the area but did not locate him.

The suspect was wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt with a swoosh on the left chest, black joggers, black foam runner slip-on sandals, and a multi-colored facemask covering his face.
No one was injured in the incident, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wausau Detective Jim Martin at 715-261-7942.
