CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WSAU) — The Chippewa Falls Plan Commission has approved a conditional use permit for a proposed hospital and emergency room facility along Highway 29 in Chippewa Falls.
The vote allows the health system to purchase land for the project and finalize a development agreement, according to a press release from Aspirus.

The Wausau-based healthcare system announced plans for a Chippewa Falls hospital back in November following the closure of other hospitals in the Chippewa Valley. At that time officials noted they expected that construction of some aspects of the hospital could be completed in as little as 18 months pending approvals.
Services offered at the new hospital will include emergency care, inpatient hospital services, and primary care. Additional services will be added as demand arises.
