GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are rehiring one of their former top offensive coaches after two years away from the team.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Packers have reached an agreement with Luke Getsy to join Matt LaFleur’s staff as a senior offensive assistant after he spent the 2023 season with the Chicago Bears and a part of the 2024 season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Getsy, who won five division titles and helped Aaron Rodgers win three MVPs during his first stint with the Packers was fired as the the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears after a 7-10 season despite Getsy’s offense finishing the season as the 2nd ranked rushing attack (141.1 YPG) and 17th in offensive points per game (20.4), which was the team’s highest mark since ranking 11th in 2018, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.
The Packers will look to Getsy to provide LaFleur with an extra set of eyes on the field and in the film room after Green Bay’s strong 2024 offensive season, which saw the team rank fourth in the NFL in points scored with an average of 27.1 points per game and fifth in total offense with an average of 370.8 yards.
