Wisconsin Badgers
COLUMBUS, OH (WSAU) — An early 1-0 lead didn’t hold for the Badger men’s hockey team as Ohio State scored four unanswered en route to a 4-1 victory on Friday.
Jack Horbach put the Badgers up 1-0 near the end of the first period. OSU’s Riley Thompson tied the game up early in the second with his first goal of the night. He would also score an empty net goal in the final ten seconds of the game.
Anton Castro, a Freshman from Mendota Heights, MN, got the start in net and made 11 saves. He was pulled midway through the third period for regular starter Tommy Scarfone, who made six saves in the final seven minutes.
Wisconsin falls to 6-14-1 in B1G play, good for 5th place in the league standings. The Badgers and Buckeyes play again this evening, pregame coverage on WSAU will begin at 7 PM as part of a Badgers doubleheader.
Men’s basketball coverage will begin at 11 AM as Wisconsin travels to Purdue.
