INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers and other NFL teams have arrived at the 2025 NFL Combine and the first interviews with defensive linemen, tight ends, and cornerbacks have begun.
Here are the players the Packers have met with on day one of the Combine, according to Packers Insider sources.
- Michigan tight end Colston Loveland: The Mackey Award Finalist and Two-time All-Big Ten selection is projected to be drafted in the first round of April’s NFL draft. He recorded 56 catches for 582 yards and five touchdowns for the Wolverines in 2024 despite missing time due to a shoulder injury. Dr. Neal Elattrache wrote a letter to teams this week stating that the injury is not expected to be an issue when training camp begins this summer.
- Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron: Barron is expected to be this year’s fan-favorite pick for the Packers due to his proven ability to be able to cover receivers and also be able to make tackles in the open field. He was the 2025 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Defensive MVP and an AP First-Team All-American in 2024 recording five interceptions, eleven pass deflections, and 46 solo tackles for the Longhorns.
- LSU edge rusher Brayden Swinson: The 2024 Second-Team All-SEC pass rusher currently holds a day two grade from Pro Football Focus after putting together an impressive 2024 for the Tigers. He recorded 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles this past season.
- Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell: Campbell was a star for the Crimson Tide during his time at Alabama recording 117 tackles including 11.5 for loss with five sacks in 2024. The Packers may lose Isiah McDuffie to free agency this off-season and with Quay Walker’s future in Green Bay remaining questionable for the 2025 season, the Packers could decide to pair Campbell with rising star Edgerrin Cooper for the next several years.
- Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison: Morrison is considered one of the biggest boom-or-bust players in this year’s draft. He suffered a season-ending hip injury last fall which required surgery and it’s unknown how long the recovery process will take. The 2024 Associated Press and ESPN Preseason All-American had nine career interceptions during his time with the Fighting Irish.
- Ole Miss pass rusher Princely Umanmielen: The former four-star recruit was one of the top rushers in the SEC this past season recording 10.5 sacks for the Rebels. He currently holds a day two grade as many teams are likely to have similar concerns about Umanmielen as they do about Benjamin Morrison due to their very high ceilings but injuries could be an issue as Umanmielen dealt with a foot injury that caused him to miss two games in 2024 and him having off-season shoulder surgery back in 2023.
- Texas defensive tackle Alfred Collins: Collins currently holds a day two grade after he recorded just one sack in 2024 but is considered one of the better run stoppers in this year’s draft class as NFL Draft Buzz notes that he “Displays otherworldly strength at the point of attack, regularly tossing SEC guards aside like they’re tackling dummies in practice,” but that his “age is a minor concern as he’ll be a 24-year-old rookie, potentially limiting his developmental runway.”
- Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutsman: the former three-star recruit and 2023 First-Team All-Big 12 member is another great run defender that has been hosted by several teams during the NFL Combine. He holds an early day three grade on most draft boards and could be a great depth addition for Jeff Hafley’s defense.
- Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden: As the D.K. Metcalf rumors continue to make headlines, the Packers were one of seven teams to meet with Golden who is considered a top five receiver prospect in this year’s class. He recorded 58 receptions for 987 yards and 9 touchdowns in the 2024 season at Texas.
