INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers Big Ten tournament run will continue into the weekend following their dominant 86-70 win over the UCLA Bruins on Friday afternoon.
The Badgers got hot from three-point range early and refused to cool down, going 19-32 (59.4%) from beyond the arc as John Tonje scored 26 points on 6 of 6 shooting from deep. Point guard John Blackwell didn’t make Tonje do it all on his own, though, as he added 18 points on 4 of 8 shooting from three.
Wisconsin’s defense gave the Bruins a tough time throughout the game as UCLA shot 9-30 (30%) from deep and had four starters combine for just a total of 16 points on 6-31 shooting from the field.
The Badgers will face the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday with tip-off from Indianapolis set for 12 p.m. on WSAU.
