GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – ESPN’s draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. has released his second 2025 NFL mock draft after teams filled areas of need during last week’s free agency period.
According to Kiper Jr., the Packers should select former Ohio State star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka 23rd overall after they declined to trade for or sign any of the available veteran players on the open market, such as Davante Adams, D.K. Metcalf, and Cooper Kupp.
Egbuka, who is regarded as one of the top offensive prospects in this year’s draft class, impressed scouts during the NFL Combine last month by running a 4.3 40-yard dash and showing off his ability to run routes well during individual drills. He also dominated during the Buckeyes’ championship run this past season, catching 81 passes for 1,011 yards and ten touchdowns.
The Packers are entering the 2025 season with lots of questions at wide receiver as Christian Watson is expected to miss most of the season due to a knee injury and Romeo Doubs is dealing with multiple concussion-related injuries that caused him to miss time on top of his one-game suspension due to skipping practice over reports of his frustration with lack of red zone targets.
