MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The three-seed Wisconsin Badgers are moving on to round two of the 2025 March Madness tournament following their 85-66 win over thirteen-seed Montana Grizzlies.
Four out of five of Wisconsin’s starters scored in the double-digits as John Blackwell led the team in scoring, recording 19 points along with five rebounds and assists. Forward Steven Crowl added another 18 points and four rebounds, while guard John Tonje scored 15 points on just five shots attempted.
The Badgers struggled from deep for a second straight game, shooting just 7-30 (30.4%) from three-point range but shot an impressive 31-56 (55.4%) from the field overall while holding Montana to 25-69 (39.7%) shooting.
Wisconsin will now wait to see who they face next, as they will announce the winner of six-seed Brigham Young University and eleven-seed Virginia Commonwealth University on Saturday.
