MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to trade one of their recently signed veteran hitters after struggling during spring training.
According to Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Mark Canha was traded to the Kansas City Royals from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night for cash or a player to be named later.
On February 24, the Brewers signed Canha to a minor league contract that included an invitation to major league camp. However, Canha struggled at the plate throughout spring training, recording only two hits in 23 at-bats for a .087 average.
In 2024, Canha played well, hitting .242 with seven home runs and 42 RBI, before hitting .288 in 32 games after the Detroit Tigers moved him to San Francisco, where he finished the season.
