WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Wisconsin Public Service Commission is reminding residents that the utility moratorium will end on April 15.
The moratorium, which runs from November 1 to April 15, prevents utility companies from cutting domestic heating services due to nonpayment. Residents are encouraged to contact their utility provider and establish a payment plan to prevent being disconnected after the moratorium expires if they are behind on their bills.
The Department of Administration’s Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program may also be able to assist those who are struggling to make their payments and those interested can find more information online.
