MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WSAU) A former player for the Central Wisconsin Storm is now coaching at Augsburg College and has her team in the NCAA D-3 Womens Hockey National Semi-Finals.
Wausau East grad Elizabeth Bauer has led her team to their first appearance in the Tournament this season.
Augsburg will face host UW-River Falls on Friday. The other two schools involved are Middlebury Vermont and Amherst Massachusetts.
Bauer is in her first year as head coach at Augsburg. She was an assistant at the school the previous season.
After a standout career as a member of the Storm earning three trips to the WIAA State Tournament, Bauer played college hockey at UW-Eau Claire, becoming the Blugolds career leader in assists. She later played professionally in Minneapolis.
