WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – President Donald Trump will speak to Wisconsin voters during former Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel’s tele-townhall on Thursday night.
According to a post on X from Schimel’s campaign, Trump will be rallying supporters over the phone starting at 6 p.m., with the topic of his speech being “Let’s finish the job.” Those wanting to listen in can call 833-746-0072 to join.
Schimel will also be appearing at stops on his statewide bus tour with notable Wisconsin Republican representatives, including a stop with former Gov. Scott Walker at Steel Tank Brewing in Oconomowoc earlier today and U.S. Senator Ron Johnson at the Piggly Wiggly in Beaver Dam on Friday afternoon.
The president formally endorsed Schimel last week in a post on Truth Social, saying, “She (Crawford) is the handpicked voice of the Leftists who are out to destroy your state and our Country, and if she wins, the Movement to restore our Nation will bypass Wisconsin. All Voters who believe in Common Sense should GET OUT TO VOTE EARLY for Brad Schimel.”
In response, Dane County Judge Susan Crawford’s campaign said, “Schimel has spent his entire career on bended knee to right-wing special interests; we assumed he had this endorsement locked up months ago. Schimel has said he wants to be a ‘support network’ for Trump and that the Wisconsin Supreme Court ‘screwed over’ Trump in 2020. Wisconsinites will reject Brad Schimel once again on April 1st.”
Crawford has picked up several notable Democratic endorsements in recent days, including former president Barack Obama, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who donated over $1 million to her campaign earlier this year.
As it currently stands, the latest poll from Social Strategies of 500 likely voters shows Crawford ahead of Schimel by eight percentage points, with eight percent of respondents still undecided, and the betting odds on the race from Polymarket give Crawford an 89% chance of winning.
