WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Supreme Court race is reportedly drawing thousands of voters to the polls to vote early as election day nears.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported this week that the number of ballots cast so far in the election is 53 percent more than the 2023 spring election. In contrast, the number of people voting in person has increased by 99 percent.
These totals come as President Trump called into former state Attorney General Brad Schimel’s telephone rally on Thursday night in hopes of drawing more of his voters from last year’s presidential election into Schimel’s camp as polls continue to show Dane County Judge Susan Crawford ahead of Schimel by as much as eight percentage points and Polymarket gives Crawford a 90% chance of winning the seat on the high court.
Both Republicans and Democrats are continuing to bring out their top stars to endorse and offer support to their candidate in the race, including former president Barack Obama and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries publicly endorsing Crawford. Jefferies spoke about the importance of Crawford winning the seat with Wisconsin Public Radio, saying Wisconsin’s congressional maps are still “gerrymandered” despite Wisconsin’s maps being changed within the last year and without Crawford the alleged problem will remain unsolved.
This Sunday, March 30th, will be the final day Wisconsin residents can vote early in person before Tuesday’s election day.
