MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers pitching rotation will be down yet another arm as starting pitcher Aaron Civale is expected to be placed on the injured list.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Curt Hogg, Civale injured his hamstring during the Brewers’ 12-3 loss to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon and will land on the 15-day IL. Civale pitched just three innings against New York and gave up five earned runs on four hits before suffering the injury.
The Brewers have now lost five of their initially planned starting pitching depth as Tobias Myers, Jose Quintana, D.L. Hall, Aaron Ashby, and Aaron Civale are all dealing with injuries.
Milwaukee has called up prospect Elvin Rodriguez to start on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. During his first five major-league appearances, Rodriguez struck out 30 hitters but allowed 42 hits in 33 innings pitched.
