MADISON, WI (WSAU) – One of head coach Greg Gard’s top transfer portal targets is reportedly committing to the Wisconsin Badgers.
According to NBA Insider Sean Wright, Milwaukee native and former Virginia Cavalier point guard Andrew Rohde will formally announce his commitment to the Badgers this week, following his entry into the transfer portal two weeks ago.
Rohde, who stands 6’6 and weighs 202 lbs., averaged 9.3 points, 4.3 assists, and shot 41.3% from three-point range for the Cavaliers last season for a Virginia team that struggled to win key games, going 8-12 in the ACC.
Gard and his coaching staff are seeking new options to help point guard John Blackwell carry the Badgers’ scoring duties, as guard John Tonje is expected to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft sometime this month, and Max Klesmit as well as Kamari McGee will not be with the team in 2025 as their eligibility will have run out.
