STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Pixelle Specialty Solutions of Stevens Point has been acquired by Ahlstrom, according to a press release from the Finnish company.
Ahlstrom has entered into a binding agreement to acquire the Stevens Point plant from Pixelle. Pending regulatory approval, the $600 million deal is expected to close in the next three months.
“The acquisition of the Stevens Point operation is a pivotal step in our journey to enhance our technology offerings and expand our solutions and market coverage,” says Konraad Dullaert, Executive Vice President (EVP) Food & Consumer Packaging and Chief Innovation Officer, Ahlstrom. “This business and its highly experienced, top-class team will significantly strengthen our capabilities, enabling us to deliver innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to our customers in North America and beyond. We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings and are committed to leveraging these advancements to drive growth.”
According to a press release, the deal will help Ahlstrom strengthen their offerings in food and consumer packaging materials, beverage and casing, and abrasives.
The Stevens Point location will join Ahlstrom’s other plants in Mosinee, Rhinelander, and De Pere, along with a sales office in Oshkosh. Additional US operations are located in Kentucky, Illinois, South Carolina, and New York.
