MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Brewers star Jackson Chourio has been on an absolute tear over the team’s last three games, putting up numbers at the plate that put him in rare company.
According to OptaSTATS, Chourio is just the fourth player since the RBI was invented in 1920 to record 12 RBIs, six extra-base hits, three home runs, two doubles, and one stolen base in a three-game span, joining Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Shohei Ohtani.
As a team, the Brewers have scored 32 runs and left only eight runners on base over their last three games, which is also the fewest runners left on base in a three-game span since 1920.
Chourio struggled during the team’s four-game losing streak to start the season, as he hit just .211 and recorded only two RBIs in that span. However, he has turned it around in April, hitting .371 with four home runs and 14 RBIs.
The latest betting odds from MGM list Chourio at +2500 to win the NL MVP award, while ESPN Bet lists Chourio’s odds to win at +3500, meaning a $20 bet would win as much as $720.
