
DENVER, COL (WSAU) — The Colorado Rockies avoided a sweep of the series vs the Milwaukee Brewers with a 7-2 win on Thursday at Coors Field.
The Brewers bullpen let this one get away as losing pitcher Joel Payamps gave up five runs in the 8th inning. Newest Brewer Quinn Priester went five innings, giving up one run on five hits with four Ks and two walks.
William Contreras drove in a run for Milwaukee but the Brewers left the bases loaded twice and were 1-13 with men in scoring position.
Milwaukee falls to 7-6 and will start a series tonight in Phoenix vs the Arizona Diamondbacks. Pre game show at 8:05 on WSAU.
