GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers are not yet done scouting 2025 NFL draft prospects, as several notable players, including the draft’s top wide receiver, will be visiting the Packers and Lambeau Field in the coming days before the draft gets underway next weekend.
According to Packers’ insider and Cheesehead TV host Aaron Nagler, the Packers hosted Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan on Tuesday afternoon, giving GM Brian Gutekunst a second look at the 2025 draft’s top-rated receiver after he was reportedly the only NFL GM to attend his private workout in March.
ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller said in an interview on ESPN Madison on Tuesday that there is a growing belief that McMillan could fall to the Packers at 23 overall, as former Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka and former Texas receiver Matthew Golden appear to be rising on teams’ big boards. The Packers have now hosted McMillan, Golden, and Egbuka in recent weeks, with Missouri’s Luther Burden, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, and Iowa State’s Jayden Higgins being the only top six receivers on consensus big boards not to meet with the team so far.
Meanwhile, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, former Ole Miss defensive tackle and projected first-round pick Walter Nolen is visiting the Packers on Tuesday alongside former Oregon defensive end and projected day two selection Jordan Burch.
After transferring from Texas A&M last spring, Nolen, 21, recorded 14.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 13 games with Ole Miss, earning him All-SEC and All-American acclaim in 2024. Nolen produced four batted passes, one forced fumble, 11.0 sacks, and 25 tackles for loss over his three collegiate seasons.
Burch attended South Carolina for three years before transferring to Oregon in 2023. After recording only 7.5 sacks in his first four seasons, he had a breakthrough season as a senior in his fifth year, recording 8.5 sacks despite missing four games because of injuries. Burch is a productive pass rusher who recorded 32 pressures and a pass rush win rate of 15.7% during his final season for the Ducks. For comparison, current Packers pass rusher Rashan Gary had a win rate of 14.5% last season.
Other notable players to reportedly visit the Packers in recent days include former Maryland wide receiver and projected day three pick Tai Felton, former SMU edge rusher and projected day three pick Elijah Roberts, and former two-time All-Canadian team selection quarterback and projected undrafted free agent quarterback Taylor Elgersma.
