NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers split a doubleheader with the New York Mets, winning the first game 7-2 and dropping the nightcap 7-3 on Wednesday in Queens.
Freddy Peralta picked up the win in game one with six innings of two runs ball. He had six strikeouts and one walk. He’s sporting an ERA of just 2.91.
Joey Ortiz had a grand slam for Milwaukee. Issac Collins was 4-4 with a solo shot. Sal Frelick also went deep with Brice Turang also picking up an RBI.
In game two, Jacob Misiorowski was roughed up for the first time in his young career. The Brewers flamethrower gave up five runs, including a grand slam to Brandon Nimmo, in just 3 2/3 innings of work.
Christian Yelich and Jackson Chourio had home runs. Ortiz had the other Brewers RBI.
Milwaukee, now 48-38, will play New York again tonight. Pre-game show at 6:05 on WSAU.
