(WTAQ-WLUK) — Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker made a series of social media posts Thursday that have some people questioning if he’s considering another gubernatorial bid.
It comes on the same day that current Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers announced he is not seeking re-election after serving two terms.
Evers, a Democrat, defeated then-incumbent Gov. Walker, a Republican, in the November 2018 election. At the time, Walker was running for his third term in office.
In a post on X following the Evers news, Walker shared a photo of a signature MAGA-style red hat that reads “MAKE WISCONSIN GREAT AGAIN” across the front. On the side, the hat says “45-47” — which is known to signify that President Donald Trump was the 45th president and is also now 47th president.

Walker served as the 45th governor of Wisconsin, and if he were to run again and win in 2026, he would be the state’s 47th governor.
Another post on X shows a side-view of the hat, which prominently shows the 45-47. Walker captioned the post with a simple: “Interesting…”

Walker also posted a photo of himself back when he was in office, writing, “It was my honor to serve as the 45th Governor of Wisconsin!”

So far, two Republicans have entered Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race: Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann and suburban Milwaukee businessman Bill Berrien.
During an event in December 2019, about one year after he was ousted by Evers, Walker said he wouldn’t run for office again before 2025, but after that he “wouldn’t rule anything out.”
