SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) — A man suspected of burglary and theft in Central Wisconsin is now in custody.
Michael Thorson turned himself in on Sunday, according to a Facebook post. The 37-year-old is accused of burglarizing vehicles in Shawano and Marathon Counties. Officers issued a be on the lookout for him one week ago.
Officers thanked the public for spreading the word, saying, “Your efforts in sharing our previous posts and spreading the word played a significant role in putting pressure on Thorson and ultimately leading to his decision to turn himself in.”
It’s unclear what charges he may be facing. Officers say they will “work alongside surrounding jurisdictions and begin speaking with Thorson regarding his activities over the past couple of weeks.”
