MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers made a pair of deals before the trade deadline.
The Brewers began the day by sending pitcher Nestor Cortes, infielder Jorge Quintana and cash to the San Diego Padres for outfielder Brandon Lockridge. Cortes pitched just two games for the Brewers before he was injured in April. He recently returned from the injured list.
Milwaukee then acquired pitchers Shelby Miller and Jordan Montgomery from the Arizona Diamondbacks for cash or a player to be named later. Miller was 3-3 with 10 saves and a 1.98 ERA for the D-Backs. Montgomery is out for the year with an injury.
