GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) The Green Bay Packers struggled in a 30-10 pre-season loss to the New York Jets.
The Packers were hurt by turnovers, penalties and dropped passes.
Two of the Packers’ turnovers led to points for the Jets.
Back-up quarterback Malik Willis fumbled while being sacked in his own end zone. Jay Tuefele of the Jets recovered the ball for a touchdown. Later in the second quarter the Jets recovered a muffed punt, leading to a 46-yard field goal.
The Packers starters played for the first two series of the game. Jordan Love completed 1 pass in 5 attempts. Some of his throws went off his receivers hands. The Jets carved up the Packers defensive starters for a long touchdown drive, capped by a 13-yard run by quarterback Justin Fields.
The Packers were penalized 7 times, and were outgained 408 yards to 168.
The Packers lone touchdown came in the 4th quarter, a 39-yard run by Amar Johnson.
The Packers next preseason game is next Saturday in Indianapolis against the Colts.
